Senator Bonham Joins Leadership Team as Deputy Leader

SALEM, Ore. – In a meeting yesterday, Senate Republicans voted unanimously to add Senator Daniel Bonham (R-The Dalles) to their leadership team as Deputy Leader for the 2023 Legislative Session. He is joined in that role by Senator Dick Anderson (RLincoln City), Senator Lynn Findley (R-Vale), and Senator Kim Thatcher (R-Keizer), who were previously elected to their positions in a meeting in December. Senator Dennis Linthicum (R-Klamath Falls) was elected Whip in December.

“I am pleased to welcome Senator Bonham to the leadership team,” said Senate Republican Leader Tim Knopp (R-Bend). “His breadth of knowledge, leadership experience, and perspective gained during his tenure in the House will be an invaluable asset to our team. As the session begins, we are eager to get to work to address the most pressing issues facing Oregonians and offer solutions delivering real results,” concluded Knopp.

Senator Bonham was first appointed to the Oregon House of Representatives in 2017. He most recently served as House Republican Deputy Leader under House Republican Leader Christine Drazan. Bonham was elected to serve Senate District 26 after Senator Chuck Thomsen (R-Hood River) opted not to run for another term.
